Is it okay to just send online Save the Dates?

Yes! More and more couples are choosing to send digital Save the Date invitations to save money on wedding stationery. It can also make wedding planning easier by automatically updating your guest list and online wedding RSVP system. Just keep in mind that you may need to remind some of your less tech savvy guests to check their email.

Do I put my wedding website URL on Save the Dates?

Though not required, it’s certainly helpful. Because Save the Dates should be sent out 4 to 6 months before your wedding day, and are considered less formal than printed wedding invitations, it’s best you complete your wedding website by that time. This way, you can add the URL to your Save the Dates and give your guests plenty of time to absorb all your wedding details.

When should we send our Save the Dates?

Whether they’re printed or digital, try to send your Save the Dates at least 4 to 6 months before your wedding date. But if you’re planning a destination wedding, you should send them around the 9-month mark to give your guests enough time to prepare, request time off from work, and book travel and accommodations.
